Monkswood Associates Newsletter What would your answer be to "if you were being used to your full potential, what would you be doing?" I think it's a great question. And how would you find YOUR answer? Some people would use logic, analysing what they know about themselves to come up with an answer. This may include asking for information from others rather than totalling relying on what they know about themselves. Others might use visualisation. To do this, you need to find a quiet relaxing place in which you won't be disturbed. Different people are likely to find different approaches to visualisation work for them. You certainly need to be able to relax (breathing helps!), calm your thoughts by emptying your mind as much as possible. Once relaxed, with open curiosity ask yourself the question and see what comes to mind. And another approach is to find a place in the room you're in that knows about the answer to the question. Find this place by felt sense. Once standing in this place, ask the question. You can say it out loud or in your mind. Once more notice what comes popping up or floating into your mind. And some people just KNOW what they would be doing without using any technique! When I considered this question, I used the third technique (finding a place that knows about the answer). What came to my mind was taking photographs. Now I didn't jump to the conclusion that I should become a professional photographer! Instead I thought about what I do, how I am, when taking a photograph. And what I do is bring out the best in what I have in front of me, what is. I don't wish that the sun was lighting it up or an electric cable wasn't going across the view. It is also true when I am with family, friends and coaching clients that I want to bring out the best. So if you do visualisation or 'standing in a place that knows' what comes to mind may not be THE answer. At the very least it will move you in an extremely useful direction. Have fun answering this question! I'd love to learn what you find out answering it. All the best
